Certain applications print off centered, with entire image being moved up the page, cutting it off

HP ENVY 4520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I try to print a full page in color (with border on and off) the entire image moves up the page resulting in the top of the image being cut off, and a big white space at the bottom. It's as if the printer starts printing before the page gets to the ink. Normal documents (like through word) seem to print normally. It's when I am printing an image (.jpg, png, ai...) through any application when it gets messed up. It hasn't always done this. I tried re-installing everything and that did not work. I made sure there was nothing jammed in the printer. I need to print 8.5 in x 11 pages in color to use as posters for my business and this problem makes it nearly impossible.

@OWOutfitter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • From which application/software you are printing the images?
  • Is the image saved on your computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

I tried root uninstalling the printer before because it was a solution I saw on another issue. The applications I am printing from are all Adobe applications and the windows photos application. I've tried printing with the images saved in different formats and I have played around with the settings in Adobe seeing if it was anything on there but nothing has helped. I tried inserting the image into a word document, but It doesn't fill the page and still gets cut off.

@OWOutfitter,

We need to perform a semi-full reset to fix this issue. However, as the steps to perform a semi-full reset are confidential and specific to your printer. I will be sending you a private message please watch your inbox for more information.
