HP Envy Photo 6232
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Envy Photo 6232.

When using the software tool HP Print and Scan Doctor you can print a test page to check the performance of your printer

After printing this page, you can choose from two buttons to clean the cartridges or to line up the cartridges.

If I select both the buttons, nothing happens. Is this normal ?

@Robert109, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • Are you experiencing any print quality issues?
  • Are you able to print from the computer?
  • Are you able to make photocopies on the printer?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi TEJ1602,

I could print a document, but the quality was verry poor. Therefore I tried to clean the cartridges with the HP Print and scan Doctor program. After printing the test page you can select the options to clean the cartridges or to line them up.

Like mentioned, the printer does not react al all, when selecting one of these butttons.

On You Tube I did find an instructions how to clean the cartridges with a bit of water

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSy-CZamh3M

I tried that and now the quality is much better. But the problem with this program is not solved.

Thanks for replying!

  • Recommend you to uninstall Print and Scan Doctor from programs and features.
  • Press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
  • Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
  • It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
  • Restart the PC again.
  • Run HP Support Assistant to detect your printer and it would also help you in installing all the required software and drivers for your printer. Click here for assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

HI TEJ1602,

I did remove the program and cleaned up de temp file. After that I did download and install the latest version

of HP Print and Scan Doctor, but the result is the same. The printer wil not react after pressing these buttons.

Because the print quality is better now, it is for me not necessary to put more effort in solving this problem.
