Continue to get message, "Missing or failed print head on Office Jet Pro 8600

Office jetpro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer running great but suddenly getting a message, "Missing or failed print head.  Tried changing cartridges; cleaning heads; and recommendations on window of printer but nothing works.  Help!

@DW491 Greetings from the HP Community!

I have a few steps that should help resolve the issue:

 

Step 1: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to try and recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE: 

    HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  5. Turn the printer on.
