Dashboard error "Cartridge Error--replace both cartridges" won't clear after replacing cartridges with HP brand new (sealed) product (both cartridges) and cleaning the contacts in the printer and on the cartridges.
Question: is there a hard reset for the dashboard? Cannot even get past the error message to do anything (e.g., print test page).

Since nothing worked (soft reset, semi-hard reset. numerous removing and re-setting the new cartridges, cleaning the contacts), I gave it up and recycled the unit. It had lasted more years than I think it was designed to anyway.
