My printer doesn't seem to communicate well with the computer anymore. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it seems to have the same problem.
It takes ages for something to happen but then it finally it starts to print but then stops and spits the paper out like it has finished printing but it has only printed the first line. Is this because it is an old model and I need to upgrade already, it is a few years old but is that all the life I'm going to get out of it?

Print and internal report and see how the printer reacts, what you describe may happen due to connectivity or any software issue too.
Press both the Wireless and Black Copy buttons at the same time till the printer starts printing a report, can you see the same or does it print correctly?
Also, make a copy from the printer front panel and check.
Is the printer connected to the PC via USB or wirelessly?
