Deskjet 2620
iOS 12 - 12.0.1

After installing the latest firmware update via the EWS, printing with airprint via the Mail, Photos or HP Smart app only takes place in black and white, with no option to revert to colour. The problem is occuring on two different iPads. Printing from a Windows 10 laptop is not affected and still works in colour. I have tried restoring default settings via the EWS and setting up the printer again, making sure the HP Smart app is up to date and restarting the iPads, but these steps have made no difference.

Details:

HP Deskjet 2620
Product No: V1N01B
Serial No: [edit]
Serial No in EWS: [edit]
Firmware: TJP1FN1845AR (2018-11-06)

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Thanks for your suggestion.

I talked the owner of the printer through the process of updating the iOS software on their iPad. After restarting, the preview within the HP Smart app was still in black and white, but when printed the photo came through in colour! Since it now works OK I don't think any further action is needed.

Thanks again,

Matthew Green.
