HP 8600 All in One ink jet pro
Unknown

I was just given an 8600 all in one model number N911a to replace my almost new HP Office JetPro 6978. My 6978 always thought it had a jam and would shoot out blank paper all day.

The fun of that wore thin and a friend gave us this 8600 after they just upgraded.

I realize it is a lot more printer and I am grateful to have it. I am just curious as to the age of the printer.

I was going to include the serial number but there is a warning against doing that.  but I have it handy.

I know with HP PC’s the number tells the age. Is that true with printers as well?

Hi,

The printer should likely be from around 2012 or 2013.

The 3rd character of the serial number indicates the manufacture year (e.g. CN3 equals 2013).

You can always do warranty check based on your printers serial number, the warranty check will give you a duration of first 12 months of the printer warranty the start ow warranty date is close to the production date of the printer.

Or also you can check SERVICE ID # that is generated when the printer is turned ON for the first time, service ID is 5 digit number that can be found on configuration page top left section. If you provide us service ID number we can calculate the date when the printer was turned ON for the first time.
