Disclosure Scam HP 8715

macOS 10.15 Catalina

HP 8715 will not print unless all ink cartridges have ink. All color cartridges conveniently ran out of ink at the same time and I only print with black. I understand some color is used when printing with black setting. However, for all three color cartridges to register as empty at the same time and run out as quickly as they did is ridiculous. I can buy a brand new printer for the cost of purchasing new color ink cartridges. I will never purchase another HP printer nor recommend any HP products.

HP did not disclose to the consumer that the printer will require all ink cartridges in order to operate. As a consumer, this would have had a huge impact on my decision to purchase this printer if HP had disclosed this fact. This is nothing but a shady money making scam by HP to dupe consumers into purchasing their product to maintain a market share.

Disclosure Scam HP 8715

Hi @psychedout99

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Apologies for the inconvenience. HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer is designed in such a way that it needs all the four ink cartridges to have a minimum amount of ink to be able to print either in black or color.
