I have followed all troubleshooting steps (e.g. cleaned contacts, ran color alone, removed/reinserted cartridge, restarted/rebooted printer, reset factory defaults).
The printer has no issue when i reinstall the past two black cartridges, but will not accept this new one (HP genuine).
When do I give up?
What will HP do so that I haven't blown $30?

Since it is an issue with the new cartridge, I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team for an exchange or get it exchanged from the store/online store you bought it from.
