To provide you with an accurate solution, I would like to know the following-

 

May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Does this error message appear on the printer or the computer?

@D49070 Thank you for the details, that said, here's what I recommend you do:

 

Step 1: Check the error

In addition to the alphanumeric code, look for an error message that describes the problem.

NOTE: 

Not all alphanumeric codes begin with 0x; some begin with B or C.

  • If the message contains a description and an alphanumeric error code, the steps in this document do not apply. Search HP Customer Support for a troubleshooting document that matches the description you see.

    Example of an error message with additional text that describes the problem

  • If the message contains only the error code, continue to the next step.

    Example of an error code without a description

Step 2: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE: 

    HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  5. Turn the printer on.

If the error message persists, continue to the next step.

I did step 2 with no success before asking for help. I did take out the ink cartridge and reinstall them without shutting down the printer.

Last night we lost power and the printer had a message to reinstall M C Y. I lifted up printer and closed it and the printer started maintenance. The printer works fine now.

Still puzzled on why it works now after power outage and not when shutting it down, unplug and plugging it back on.

Hope this won't be recurring.
