Envy 5000
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi, I'm trying to print some 5x7 photos from my Envy 5000. I'm inserting the photo paper one sheet at a time, face down. I've told the printer (via the touchscreen) what size paper I am using. I've ensured that the printer driver on my Mac knows that the paper size is 5x7 and all the other settings are correct (colour, paper quality etc). And each time I send the job to print the paper either comes out blank, but with lines on the back for some reason, or it jams the printer and emerges through a gap in the underside of the machine. I have replaced the colour printer cartridge even though it was still 1/3 full and the black ink cartridge is over 50% full so I don't think it is lack of ink that's the problem. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Hi @Cadleigh1

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

You may refer to this document to know how to change the print settings for paper size and type. If the issue persists, resetting the printer may help.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
