I had my printer for about a year with no problems printing. I got a new modem yesterday and entered the new wifi credentials into the printer and tried to print something from the computer over the network but it spit out an error saying the printer was offline. After initially trying a power cycle and unplugging the power cable, I reset the wifi credentials on the printer and re-entered the ones for the new modem and it worked. But then I went to print something else and it didn't work again. For each print job to process, I need to reset the wifi credentials and re-enter them. Please help.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy 7645 printer. I understand that you are getting printer offline error and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity.
  • Set the default printer and unpause printing.
  • Reset the printer and check the connection status.
  • Make sure the correct port is selected.
  • Update the printer firmware.
  • Create a manual connection.
  • Add the printer using HP Printer Assistant.

Click here and follow the steps mentioned in the document to fix this issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

I had to completely uninstall the printer software and drivers from my computer and reinstall them to fix the issue because in the print and scan doctor it printed an internal page but not a regular page.

Thanks for the reply.

Superb job on trying the different steps to isolate the issue.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report.

  1. Load U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.
  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup (). The Setup menu displays.
  3. Touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report. A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
