Hi,

I have a 7612 Officejet with that error code

Be grateful for help as have just inserted new HP black cartridge

If the error message includes an error code such as '0x610000f6' or '0x61xxxxxx' (where each x can be any letter or number), there is an issue with the carriage.

Follow the troubleshooting steps from this document.

 

If the issue persists, it could be a possible hardware issue. I would recommend you to try our other support options.

Afraid that was no help. The printer now prints intermittently and may do a page or two before coming up with the same error. It's all very odd because what ever is going on, it can print when it wishes to...unclear what triggers it's response as there is no indication of a jam of any kind.

Just installed new black cartridge . The hp6700 goes in seemingly endless cycles of “ checking device-this process may take a few minutes, etc.”. I must admit that I am using aftermarket ink cartridges.
