Error message 0x61011 on Officejet 6600

Officejet 6600

Officejet 6600 won't print and gives me following error message:  There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  0x61011

I have done all the things mentioned in HP Scan Doctor, etc.  Changes ink cartridges, unplugged, removed device and reloaded with drivers, but still get this message and no printing.  The carriage is moving, no paper jam.  Any ideas or do I toss it in the trash and buy a new one!!!

@VH01, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Make sure that the carriage moves freely and there is no jams inside the printer.

Perform solution four mentioned in this document.

 

Now, try printing a status report

  1. On the control panel, touch the Right Arrow ().

  2. Touch Setup ().

  3. Touch the Down Arrow () to scroll to Reports.

  4. Touch Reports, and then touch Printer Status Report. The Printer Status Report prints.

Thanks but did all of this and it still gives me same message.  Maybe print head is just dead!

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
