Error message HP 8620: 'There is a problem with the printer or the ink system .....'

Hi!

 

On the display of my HP 8620 i get an error message: 'There is a problem with the printer or the ink system. Please turn off the printer and switch on again. Contact HP, if the problem persists'.

Well, I have tried to switch off and on, I have also tried to pull the power cord while the printer was on, wait for 3 minutes, press the on button to removed the last charges, then reconnect the power cord again. I have also tried this with the ink cartridges (non-original) removed.

The problem persists and I cannot operate the printer.

 

What do I do?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

Let's try these steps -

 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
