Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had my HP OfficeJet 4655 4 in one printer connected to my HP laptop successfully for some time.  Yesterday, the printer disappeared from the list of available printers when I wanted to print a document.  when I opened up the printer settings, I'm getting an error message that the print driver is detected but not installed completely.  I follow the instructions to finish installing the driver, and it says I have finished the installation successfully, but then it just cycles back to to the original error message.  I have rebooted the computer, printer, and router, turning them on again in sequence router, printer, computer, I have gone to the HP website and redownloaded the entire HP Smart package, including the print driver, to no avail.  I've been through the troubleshooting program and HP's printer troubleshooting program I downloaded, but no luck.  Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi @bergenia

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

I understand you are not able to print from your PC. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless icon on the printer screen
  5. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  6. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try printing.

If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
