I am getting the message that the printer was not shut down properly and to shut it down with the start button and then restart the printer.  That did not resolve the problem and the message says to contact HP with the error message Px10100004a.  I have also gotten the message that I have a paper jam but am unable to find any.  I removed the paper tray and have checked every where and can't find a jam.

The error message should be Ox10100004a.

@nkdohle, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I'm afraid this seems like a hardware issue with the printer as the print carriage is stuck with a false paper jam error. Please contact our HP Support team for Service Options:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

@nkdohle

Thank you for the information. I checked your previous post regarding the same issue and I got to know the model of the printer you are using. As mentioned in my previous post, this is a hardware failure. Kindly contact HP Support team who can assist you better with service options.

You may refer to this document to clear a carriage jam. But as you are unable to move it manually, it may not help.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
