When my printer did not print, the HP software indicated that the color in cartridge was low. I replaced it with a new HP color cartridge.  I noted that it would not run its test scan and print properly as usual but I attempted to print again. It would not. Then, I noticed that the HP software does not seem to recognize that I have inserted a new color cartridge. It still showed low. I then replaced that one with another new color ink cartridge. It still would not run its scan/print test properly and the HP software still indicates that the color cartridge is still low -even though I had tried 2 new cartridges. The HP software is no longer recognizing the presence of the color ink cartridge and will not print. What can be done to fix this?

Are you able to make photocopies on the printer?

 

Meanwhile, follow the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge to isolate and resolve the issue.

 

Also, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
