I tried installing a brand new HP OfficeJet 5255 tonight (just delivered in mail today) and it continually gives me the false paper jam message and NONE of the solutions offered here or online have worked. I'm about to throw in the towel, return the **bleep** thing, and never but HP again!

Kindly check if you have removed all the packaging material from the printer. Packaging material is in form of Blue tape, cardboard piece.
If you have tried all the steps as mentioned in the below URL, then its time get the printer serviced.
