I installed a new ink cartridge HP60 black in F4480 printer and it only prints every other line correctly, second line is only 1/2 or less printed, is this a bad cartridge or is the printer not working properly??

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

It could be either ways. Do the copes come out well?

 

Follow these steps to run an automated tool to clean the cartridges.

 

 

  1. Open HP Solution Center:

    HP Solution Center opens in a new window.

  2. Click Settings ().

  3. In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox. The printer Toolbox opens.

  4. On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Print Cartridge(s) ().

  5. Click Clean to begin the process.

    NOTE: 

    Mechanical noises during the cleaning process are normal. A test page prints when the cleaning process finishes.

     

Let us know how the test print looks.
