HP 4630 AllinOne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Had to replace my router. Now my HP 4630 printer won't connect to wireless network.

I go to wireless setup wizard and scan for networks. My printer sees my SSID. I select it, put in my wireless password.

Printer starts "attempting to connect to network". Then it times out and says "Connection failed".

What do I do if the connection fails?

I am 100% sure I entered the password correctly.

I've printed the wireless test report. I've printed the wireless configuration report. Neither helped.

Everything worked fine before I replaced the router.

It is a Dual Band Router.

Distance between the router and the printer is approximately 3 ft.

The second time I printed the report (to post here) it showed it had failed filtering and told me to check my router for the MAC address of my printer. Router belongs to cable company so I had to call them. As soon as I told him what I was seeing, he was on it. Logged into the router and changed the router from the default setting of WPA2 to WPA.

Reset the printer, turned on the printer wireless and it connected right away.

Hi @Doug540

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue.

To better assist you -

1) Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? Or, maybe connected through an extender?

2) What is the distance between the router and the printer?

While you respond to that, please try these steps -

1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer.

2) Wait for 60 seconds.

3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

4) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.

5) Turn on the computer.

Can you post the result of the Wireless Test Report here?

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
