HP ink jet printer 4650 - touch pad not responsive to touch and won't allow setup of date, etc. or fax

Was it working fine before?
Is there any damage to the screen?
I'm afraid this seems like a hardware issue with the display of the printer. Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Try using the touch screen display. Try with all the options available. You may also check if the Home icon, the Back button is working.
