I need to change the setting from double sided printing to single side.

The default print settings can be changed as follows: click Start, Devices and Printers.  Right click on the Officejet 6830, select Printing Preferences.  Select the preferences you want, Apply, OK.  This will change the default settings.  Note that some programs keep their own printing defaults and will need to be changed in the program.
