HP 7100 Series will not copy or scan

HP 7100 All in One Printer
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have checked the YouTube video and have recalibrated and also uninstalled my printer.  It will print from my computer but will not scan or copy well.  I will get a page with lots of inky lines.  I have cleaned it well and the ink is just fine with a print from computer but not stand alone copy or scan.  I did the scan doctor as well. Before I chuck this printer out of the window, can you help!?!?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 


Let's try these steps -


1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.


Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware


If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
