New HP 8035 printer loses WiFi connection at least once per day.   Have to turn off and on then it connects (for a while).  All other devices have no problem with my router.  Went to Staples and they told me to call Asurion tech help (bought protection plan).  They took over my computer remotely and reinstalled  software/drivers.  They said call them back if problem persists.  Printer went offline again 10 minutes after I ended call with Asurion.   Asurion said that HP recommends that the printer should not be more than five feet from the router.  Five feet!!!???!!!    My previous Epson printer was in the same location, about 40 feet from the router, and NEVER went offline.   My laptop is 50 feet from the router and NEVER loses WiFi.

Staples says they will give me a new printer but I need to know if all HP 8035 printers have this problem, or if I just got a lemon, before I try the same model again.   I only have a week left to return it before I hit the 30 day return deadline, so any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Steve5119

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

The printer can be kept more than 5 feet away from the router. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Which device is the printer connected to?

Kumar,  I performed all the recommended things to fix my problem, thank you for the suggestions.   However, it did not fix the problem of losing wireless connection.   So I returned the printer to Staples and got a new one.  The new printer has not gone offline even once.   So the problem was due to a defective printer.
