HP 8610 connects to wifi but not to internet

Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My printer can connect to the wifi and display an IP and MAC address, but it says it can't connect to the internet.

I've tried rebooting the router and printer (several times) but nothing helps

I know our Internet is fine because other devices are using it. this has been going on for over a month.

We had been using hpeprint a lot before this happened

Hi,

It soundsl ike you may be using the wifi direct feature in which the printer generates its own wifi signal to which you can connect directly (although this prevents your device from connecting to the internet). You'll recognise the wifi direct network as it will hav ethe printer name in it. If you see this network it means that you have wifi direct enabled.

If you have a router and home, then disbale wifi direct and connect both printer and all devices connecting to it to your home wifi network and you should then be able to print fine.

Hi,

I may not be able to assist you further on this via the forums -I'll leave it open here for others to contribute.

In the mean time, I've included a link below to HP phone support worldwide which may be able to help you troubleshoot.
