HP DeskJet Ink-Advantage 4530
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there!

I don't know if anyone has ever had this issue before, but my Windows 10 laptop doesn't seem to be detecting my Deskjet 4530 as a color printer when installing the driver over Wi-Fi, installing it over USB detects it as color printer which confuses me very much.

I have been uninstalling and re-installing the driver, using HP Smart for installation, and it still doesn't detect the printer as Color Printer

Does anyone have any solution to this problem that I am facing?

Restart the print spooler and try uninstalling the drivers-

Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.

Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.

Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.

Go to services again - Start the print spooler.

Let me know how this goes.

Hope this helps!

Please uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Keep me posted how it goes 😊

Hi KrazyToad,

I tried using the Full Feature Software and after installing HP Photo Creation and Product Improvement, it just skips straight to "Installation has completed." screen.

Thanks for replying!

Have you uninstalled the printer software completely before reinstalling it?

What happens after you get the message- installation has completed?

Have you tried printing after the message pops up?

If the issue persists, I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

1. I have uninstalled the printer software completely

2. It doesn't show anything else, it was as if the installation is already finished.

3. The installation process doesn't add any new device to the Device and Printers list, nor it installed any driver.

Using the method of using the Windows built-in driver you gave me, it always returned with a printer named "HPE7DDE7 (HP Deskjet 4530 series)" with a status of "Driver is unavailable" even though printui.exe /s listed the driver "HP DJ 4530 series" in there.

EDIT: I just did a reset on my computer, the Full Software ran like normal, but the resulting printer still did not offer color printing
