I have been attempting to use the HP Easy Start program to add scanning functionality to my mac. The app goes through the process of downloading and installing the HP Easy Scan software, but fails when it attempts to change the printer's driver to an HP branded driver. If I leave the printer with the default driver, the HP Easy Scan cannot find it. I attempted to reset the printing system and restarting the laptop, but to no avail. Any advice how I can obtain full functionality of the printer on my mac?

Hi,
Download and install below drivers package:
Once completing the installation, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and click the plus sign.
Select your printer and then select HP Officejet Pro 8600 from the Use drop-down menu, then press Add.
Now you should gain full functionality of your printer with your Mac.
For any issues, also make sure your Mac is fully updated with 10.15.3, click the Apple icon > About This Mac to make sure it is up to date, click Software Update there to install missing updates.
