Ink cartridges (twin pack HP300 black/Tri) purchased from well known reputable retailer. Cartridges are definitely genuine, but message for black cartridge is advising not genuine.

Welcome to HP Support Community
Try updating the printer Firmware and check if that helps

HP Envy 110e printer rejecting genuine ink cartridges

This hasn't worked. I have installed updated software and tried to set up HP Smart but to complete this I need to print out a code number. Because my printer is still rejecting both brand new sets of ink cartridges I am unable to print this code. Very frustrating. Is it rejecting the inks because it did so the first time I installed them, so will now always do so? I cannot afford to buy any new ink. I am certain these inks should be OK. They are from a well known reputable seller with good reviews. Also the message I receive changes - sometimes it says the cartridges are not genuine and sometimes it indicates they are damaged. My printer is an ENVY 110.

I suggest we perform a Semi-Full Reset
Since these steps are specific to your printer, I have sent you the instructions in a private message
