HP Envy 4500
macOS 10.14 Mojave

HP Envy 4500 the printer always prints double sided even when I untick the 'two sided' check box.

the only option is to, for example, to enable print page 1 to 1, print 2 to 2, etc to avoid this.

I think HP should respond to this. It is totally annoying, and why should I pay £50 to pay for their technical support?

@ryszard77, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I understand you'd want to disable the two-sided printing. When you set up a duplex printing job, the settings might carry over to the next print job. Additionally, some HP printers come with a duplex printing set as the default. To change back to one-sided printing, turn off the duplex setting in the print window.

To preserve duplex or one-sided settings for future print jobs, complete the print job with the desired settings, click the Presets menu, select Save Current Settings as Preset, and then give the preset a name such as One-Sided Documents.

Save a new Preset print job

Additionally, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
