Previous answers have been completely misleading about the problem. If I try printing an email or any web page (with Firefox or Internet Explorer) to my wifi connected (my local network router) Envy 4520 only bold headline text will print. THIS IS NOT a print quality issue as described in previous answers!! When I screenshot the email or web page and paste it into my Libre Office text editor and print from there or from a PDF file all text and headers are correctly printed. This scenario is exactly the same on my Windows 10 laptop.
Please provide a verified solution that explains why printing does not work properly with a browser. Thanks in advance.

@widgetoo, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Have you tried using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge?
There might be a conflict between the driver and the browser. We can try fixing it, follow the steps below:
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates.
For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.
I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
• When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.
• Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Thanks for your response to my printing problem. It led me to the solution, though it was because I had shot myself in the foot. I had two instances of the same printer with different settings and names on my system. I discovered that one had a bad driver so I ended up removing the bad one and adding it back with the correct driver because correcting the driver for the old printer instance did not seem to work. Now all is well.
Thanks for your help.
