Hi,

When I turn on my printer, there is an error message: ERROR CODE OXD942418 KERNEL_EXEC_ST

I have turned off and on again, unplugged etc but it won’t “fire up” and this message comes up on the screen before getting to the main menu.

Is there a way around this error at all?

@CM495, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates.

For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

Turn off IPv6

Use the control panel to turn off the IPv6 setting.

  1. From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Network Setup, and then touch Advanced Settings.

  3. Turn off IPv6, and then touch Yes to confirm.

Alternatively, you can try to disabling IPV6 from the software:

Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.

Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.

Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.

Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)

Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.

Click on the radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)

Restart the printer and the router once done.

If the issue persists, try connecting the printer using a USB cable.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, however, this option won’t work as I cannot get to the control panel. The error message comes up straight away and doesn’t move to the control panel screen. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi @CM495

Please try a printer reset -

1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Also, have you tried updating the printer's firmware?

Let me know.
