Hi Guys, I have a HP Envy 6230 Printer that is asking for setup cartridges. I don’t have any set up cartridges? I understand there is a bypass. I have put in genuine HP 303 cartridges to no avail. Can anyone help please?

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
Going through your post, I understand that you are having issues with your Envy 6230 printer. Do not worry, I’m here to help
First off, the SETUP ink cartridges are used only to set up a new HP printer for the first series of your print jobs. They are specially designed to initialize a printer and calibrate ink levels.
Installing normal ink cartridges during the initial printer setup causes a printer error prompting you to install SETUP ink cartridges. The printer cannot be set up without associated SETUP ink cartridges installed.
Hence, if this is a first-time printer setup and if you have received the setup cartridges with the printer, please use them to setup the printer.
You can keep the regular cartridges in an air-tight container and can use once the printer is setup using the setup cartridges.
For more assistance, please follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Ink Cartridges - 'Use SETUP Cartridges' Error
just in case, if you want to bypass the setup cartridges and want to use the regular ink cartridges, I believe we can bypass the setup by performing a reset.
We are going to provide you some additional steps via PM that are specific related to your product model. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Dear Hp team,
is the by pass procedure updating the drivers? because I followed that step already, successfully installed but the setup cartridges request keeps poping out.
I already used the cartridges that came with the printer. More precisely THE cartridge. Only black came with it (I usally only need black ink so I did not think it would be a problem)
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide as this is .

very sorry for the delay in answering back. I actaully was expecting a notification to pop out on my phone or email notifying me of an answer ...and since the week was busy I am checking the posts only today.
Printer model is : Envy 6230 Photo (I thought the subject would show on your side- model and subject are displayed in it)
The printer keeps asking to use the set up cartrigdes. This never happened with the cardrige that came with the printer. Of course that cardrige is finished and so needed replacement . I am using Original HP cartridges 303.I already checked for software/driver update and installed it/them but the message is still there : " use the set up cartdriges"
Again, thank you for the help you may be able to provide
