Envy 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Envy 7640 worked for a while after setting up the static IP address. However it has been extremely unreliable, for probably the last 2-3 months. It won't print and shows offline at least 60%-75% of the time when I need to print. And it always happens when I don't have extra time to mess with it!!!!  Print Doctor can't fix it. Sometimes rebooting my PC helps. And once in a while I get lucky and it prints and this is with no intervention at all. Ususally it won't work, but sometimes will.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer, no change.

Step 1) While you are in front of your computer, Press and hold down the “Win Logo” and the “R” Key.

Step 2) In the Box that appear, type in control printers and press Ok.

Step 3) On the Window that Opens, locate your printer’s Icon. Right Click on the printer’s Icon and click on Printer Properties.

Step 4) Click on the Ports Tab > Click on Add Port > Select Standard TCP/IP > Click New Port > Type in the IP Address of the printer > Click Next wherever applicable and finish the Wizard.

The Above steps creates a Secured Path for the printer and now it should allow the printer to be connected to the network.

Try printing and check, if you still face some issues, then I would request you to follow the steps in the link below:-

Please explain how you set up a static IP in the printer and the router?

Starting DHCP address in the router?

Ending DHCP address in the router?

Static IP set in the printer?
