HP Envy 7640 printer
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

No idea who i'm asking this to but here goes.

I have a HP Envy 7640 printer. I used the blue tooth to print from my phone, Desktop and laptop. As do others that come in my office. I moved locations. Both the printer and laptop.  I have a hard time getting the blue tooth to talk to the computer to talk to the desk top. I read some tips. i have no idea what happen..but it started to print. This morning nothing. I reset my Mac. All the printers listed are gone.  Under System  preferences/Printer and Scanners  I clicked plus to added P Envy 7640 printer. Doesn't show as a choice. I can't find it in my library and I can't find in my apps. I trying to download it from the HP website. Doesn't seem to be working just spins. So now I have no printer listed on my desktop so I can't even solve the problem of the Bluetooth connection ...god what happened in the old days when you could just call someone and they could just help you walk through now I have to type something that half of which I don't even know what I'm talking about

Hi @dsinla81

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are trying to connect the printer to your mac. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Do you have a wireless router?
  • We can connect the printer and the MAC wirelessly.

If you do not have access to a wireless router, the printer and the MAC can be connected via Wifi-Direct

Refer to this document for more info.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
