I have run the "doctor". Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. I know its not a computer issue because I get the error when the printer is disconnected from the computer and I run a "status report" right from the printer itself. I even went through the meticulous task of cleaning the spoolers. There's nothing in the queue. I clear it out every time. The error reports incorrectly as follows:

Photo Tray Problem

The photo tray is blocked. Please adjust the tray and try it again

The HP Envy 7645 photo tray is NOT blocking anything. There's nothing in the way. In fact, when I manually cancel the job from the printer itself the blank sheet of paper from the tray feeds through. I have reset the printer specifically according to the detailed shutdown-pull-the-cord-wait-at-least-a-minute instructions several times. I have tried everything. Perhaps I have a defective tray. I bought the printer in 2015. 5 years later it just quits because the trays defective? Why did it take so long?
