HO Envy Photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have not used my photo printer for two months.  I cancelled by internet service with Xfinity and went to Metronet (fiber optic cables).  I had nothing but problems with Metronet.   I switched back to Xfinity this week.   Everything is working fine with the internet but I tried to print out a couple of documents and have been trying to print a couple of documents.   I have spent the last three days trying to troubleshoot the problem.   I have downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor and have used the virtual assistant on line but nothing has worked.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.   I have tried using the USB cable and also the Wifi network.   I was never able to print using the wireless wifi and have previously just used the USB cable.  I also did a reset on google chrome.   I sometimes received a message that the document could not print because of a metered connection but I have unchecked that on my network and also on the printer app.

I am not sure what else I can do but purchase another printer.   I really do not want to do this because I do not print many documents over a year;s time.  If I cannot resolve the problem, then I guess I will go to the library for the few times a year and print my document there.

@Papad1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand you are facing issues printer from your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Are you able to make a copy?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Add the printer using IP address -

1. Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.

2. Choose “Printers & scanners“.

3. Select “Add a printer or scanner“.

4. Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.

5. Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.

6. Select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.

7. Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.

8. Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, Select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
