Microsoft Windows XP

Printer is stuck in "shutting down" and will not respond to anything.  Power on and Power off will not work.  Physically unplugging the unit and plugging it back in also does nothing and simply returns to the same state.

We can try updating the printer firmware to see if that can resolve the issue. Here is how you do it-

 

Download available firmware updates from the HP website. With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

 

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
