HP Inkjet 3755
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

HP Inkjet 3755 - just replaced black cartridge- display window shows it empty, and the light on the panel is blinking.

Things I've tried:

1) Accessing the help assistant to clean or check the cartridges through my computer- I keep getting a message that the printer is busy. I checked to make sure the queue was empty - it was.

2) taking out both cartridges, cleaning the contact points, and then hard resetting the printer, following all of the steps shown in this forum, including unplugging from printer, unplugging from wall, unplugging USB, waiting 3 minutes, holding down the power button for 30 seconds, plugging everything back in, and putting the cartridges back in.

Nothing has worked.

Help!

Does the error go away if you install the old cartridge?

Have you tried reinstalling the HP software?
