Hello

 

My HP OfficeJet 200 has just started showing 'Cartridge Problem'.

 

I have tried different ink cartridges and it will print half a page and then show this error and stop printing. It's infuriating!

 

It started playing up just a few days after the warranty expired.....

 

Any suggestions to help reboot and or solve this would be gratefully received.

@FRAN_23, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Perform step 3 mentioned in this document.

Thank you for your reply. I have updated the software, cleaned the heads and bought (at great expense) a whole new set of HP inks and it still does not work!!

 

It will print and works fine and then says 'Cartridge Problem' half way through a print and stop - technically it works...

 

I refuse to buy into this throw away culture where things are manufactured to break. Can you advise where in London I can get this fixed so I can continue using it rather than contributing to the growing mounds of waste that we collectively chuck away.

That's unfortunate. It seems like an issue with the printer hardware. Please contact our HP Support team for Service Options:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
