I finally removed the color cartridge, installed a previously used one, ran a couple of copies and put original one back in---blurring problem was then gone.  Lots of research and came to such a simple solution.  BRoat

Hi @ROATBC

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the print quality issue.

To better assist you -

1) Are you experiencing this issue while making a copy as well?

2) Are you using a genuine HP inks?

3) What's the application that you are trying to print from?

4) What's the operating system installed on the computer?

While you respond to that, try these steps - HP Officejet 4500 Printers - Fixing Poor Print Quality

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
