OfficeJet 4650

I have a complicated situation...

-Summer of 2017 I was preparing to leave for college and got an OfficeJet 4650

-April/May 2018 my printer started giving false carriage jam errors and would no longer work. After a tedious amount of time with HP support we determined it was a hardware issue. Since I was still under warranty they shipped me a refurbished one and I had to return the broken one.

-After receiving the refurbished one I tested it once to make sure it was working (it was) and then packed it away in its box since I was home for the Summer Break and my family already had a printer.

-August of 2018 I arrive back at school

-September 2018 I turn on my refurbished printer for the first time since I received it in April/May because I needed to print my first assignment of the semester. Instead of printing I get...... a false carriage jam error message.....

-I tried resetting it, checked for paper jams, changed out the ink cartridges, etc and nothing worked. I ended up having to use my dorms printer and used that for the rest of that school year

-Which brings me to now... now it's Spring 2020 and I've finally unboxed my broken refurbished printer again. I had not made any previous efforts to get it sorted out because the printer was already out of warranty so it wouldn't have made a difference and the last year has been very hectic so I have not had time.

So essentially, what CAN I do? Between my original printer and it's refurbished replacement I haven't even gone through two ink cartridges which is completely ridiculous just like the fact that both printers had the exact same problem.
