HP OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978, Product NO.  TOF29A.  I have run all available printer reports and everything checks out okay.  But if I bring a new laptop close to it and select "find printer", the printer never seems to recognize the laptop.  It would have last year.  Any ideas?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's restore the Printer's network settings:

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). 2. Touch Network Setup. 3. Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored. 4. Touch Yes. 5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.

Once done, connect the printer back to the Wi-Fi:

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Wireless). 2. Touch ( Settings ). 3. Touch Wireless Settings. 4. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard. 5. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

If the issue persists, let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Betty, I tried all these steps and ran the print and scan doctor.  Even the print doctor could not solve the problem.  So I went out and bought at new HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.  Same problems.  Then I had the Geek Squad come out.  The tech seems to have solved the problems.  It wasn't the printer.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
