HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 line quality from Autocad

HP OfficeJet Pro 7740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer doesn't print correctly the line thickness from DWG Drawings. Even if exported to PDF the print quality is very poor when compared to other inkjet printers.

@FilipeSilva

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, you're having a print quality issue while printing DWG Drawings,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Are you able to print other documents fine?

How is the copy quality?

Does this happen only while printing from Autocad or other applications (Such Word, Wordpad, excel etc.)?

Once I have the information, I'll assist you further with troubleshooting steps,

Cheers!

HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 line quality from Autocad

Hi, as resquested:

Are you able to print other documents fine?

Yes text documents and images print fine.

How is the copy quality?

Haven't detected any problem.

Does this happen only while printing from Autocad or other applications (Such Word, Wordpad, excel etc.)?

Architectural drawings are mostly lines, with thickness from 0,05 to 0,25 (the ones we use). I have tested printing directly from Autocad and to Pdf than from Acrobat. The problem is the same.

It seems that it doesn't print thin lines. From Excel or Word documents it is dificult to notice since normaly we don't use lines or lines with diferent thickness.

Hope it helps.

@FilipeSilva

Thanks for responding,

It's great to have you back,

Since you're able to print other documents and pictures fine and the copy works good, this seems to be an Autocad software issue. I would suggest you get in touch with Autocad support team for further assistance.

It's not an AutoCAD problem since I own other HP printers and Plotters.

I appreciate the feedback but I have no pacience to keep doing this.

I'll return the printer.

Thks

HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 line quality from Autocad

Please send me some  info or i'll return my officejet pro 7730 ASAP , because i have the same issues as described by other buyers. HP does't have any support team at real time so it seams that HP doesn't have respect for their costumers no more!

Waiting for quick solution or, as i said, i will return the product.

@JoséA2019, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Do you experience the same issue while printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages?

Try updating the Autocad application and then try printing.

Check the print settings on the Autocad software. Try printing in high quality and not in draft/economy mode.

Refer to this document for the print settings on a Windows PC

Also, Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

If the issue persists while printing all types of documents, follow these steps:

Align the printhead

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

  2. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  3. Touch Align Printhead, and then touch Continue.

Let me know how this goes.
