HP OfficeJet Pro 8720
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am running Windows 10 Pro. Word Processor is Microsolft Office 365. I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8720.  I am using the Avery Template 5195. The first line printed is consistently printed just above the label. I followed the  instructions given by Krazy Toad on 01/11/2018. (With printer on and idle, disconnect the power cord from the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet; wait at least 60 seconds; plug the power cord into the wall outlet, then reconnect it to the printer; turn the printer on if it does not start automatically.)

He also suggested opening Devices and Printers in the Control Panel, right-click on the printer. Select Printer Preferences, then Paper/Quality. Click on Media and change it to Labels.  The problem is that there is no such choice as Media to click on. I checked under all the choices. Under Paper Options, the options are Paper sizes (There is no choice for"Labels" in the papers listed); Paper source (Printer Auto Select and Main Tray); and Paper type (no choice for "Labels", but there is a choice for Thick Paper).  I also looked under the other tabs (Printing Shortcuts, Layout, and Advanced ) I found no listing for Lables  any place.

I tried updating the Firmware, as he suggested. My Firmware is up-to-date.

I put the label sheet carefully into my printer and checked the paper guides to be sure the sheet was held in the proper place, and choose Thick Paper,  another suggestion I have seen. All to no avail.  The first line of print is still perched just above the top line of the label. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@PenMar,

I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.
