HP OfficeJet Pro 8740: Paper Jam Warning displayed - WHEN THERE IS NO PAPER JAM

HP OfficeJet Pro 8740
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Please help:

HP OfficeJet Pro 8740: Paper Jam Warning displayed - WHEN THERE IS NO PAPER JAM

I checked entire printer inside and out. There is no paper jam in the printer.

Reset, unplugged, restarted...warning still remains on display screen...and it will not print anything.

Using 2018 MacBook Pro #A1706

Please, how can I fix this?!

Many thanks!

HP OfficeJet Pro 8740: Paper Jam Warning displayed - WHEN THERE IS NO PAPER JAM

Hi @BlueBarn1

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

I understand you are not able to print due to a false paper jam error. Are you able to bypass this error and access the home screen of the printer?

If yes, then we can perform a factory reset on the printer that may help resolve this issue.

If no, then kindly make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document.

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
