Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling, I have tried everything but when I click print and printer preferences it doesnt even come up with the option of colour or black and white.  I have cleaned the cartridges, re-alligned them, checked for updates on my laptop etc etc and no luck.  It prints colour when I do a test page to check alignment but that is it.

Can anyone help?

@LozzerKolkenbec Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to print in color.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please let us know if you are using HP genuine ink cartridges.

Please refer to the below link to troubleshoot the issue.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-3830-all-in-one-printer-series/7172321/model/97292...

Please perform the Clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

1.       In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.       Select your HP Printer

3.       Select Uninstall

4.       In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.       In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.       Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.       Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.       Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.       Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.   Select Ok

11.   Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.   Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, try to update the firmware.

@LozzerKolkenbec

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy and check.
