Whenever I print from my laptop or my Apple ipad, the paper advanced half way, I get a message that there is a paper jam, I touch "OK", the initial paper comes out on it own, then my document gets printed. 

 

The same thing happens when I make a copy.

I would recommend you follow the steps from the document An 'Original Jam: Clear jam, and then press OK' Message Displays for HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-On...

 

If the issue persists, it could be an issue with the rollers. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Thanks but this didn't help.

I don't really have a normal paper jam.  When I go to print a document, the paper advances 1/2 way, I get a paper jam message, but the only thing I do is touch "OK" on the screen, the paper comes out by itself then my document gets printed.

 

I don't have clear anything myself.
