HP Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

Hopefully someone can help me. I am having problems with my HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer. It stopped working while printing a document recently. The paper got stuck mid way. I managed to remove the jammed paper but unfortunately it has not worked since.

The printer has power as the on/off button is lit up. The screen is only showing the HP logo and a progress bar directly underneath it. When I turn the printer on, the process bar moves but then stops around 3/4 of the way through. There are no noises from the printer and the on/off button does nothing.

I have tried many times to reset the printer by unplugging it/changing the cable etc but nothing seems to work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.22CF2143-7483-4523-B217-32B817AAA93F.jpeg7849B0A4-4BE9-4F27-A98E-96F989314965.jpeg

@Chengdublair Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the printer is frozen.

Please try the below-mentioned steps.

  1. While the printer is ON, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Remove all the cord from the printer like Ethernet/ fax etc if any.
  3. Power Off the wireless router.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds.
  5. Plugin the power cord to the printer only.
  6. Wait until the printer shows up the HOME screen.
  7. Make a copy.
  8. Now power ON the router.

Please update the printer firmware.
