I have gone thru 2 sets of color cartridges. I nave tried premium matte paper and plain paper. The printer did recognize the paper and set the printer for the proper paper. I also made sure my 2 computers were set for the correct paper currently in the printer. This problem has been on and off for over two months. Now it is constant and cannot get any work done.I have cleaned the printheads over a dozen times. I ran every diagnostic procedure on the printer.I purchased this printer at Staples late in 2016. I ran the HP Diagnostic doctor. This printer is used once or twice a week. I have been using HP printers for over 20 years. I have never had a problem until now. This printer was not cheap like the others I have purchased in the past.

I just tried my wife's HP Officejet Pro 6978 (this is a second backup printer) and tried to use it. I noticed that she removed the ink cartridges to replace our primary Officejet Pro 6978 ink. The printer was stored downstairs for approx. 6 months. I cleaned the heads on it several times. I can not print in any color... but cannot print anything in back. It's not my day.
